Internally Threaded Jewelry
Internally threaded jewelry has the threads on the inside of the post, so the part that goes through your piercing is smooth. This helps make insertion more comfortable and reduces irritation.
The end simply screws into the post, making it secure and easy to change or customize.
Externally Threaded
Externally threaded jewelry has the threads on the outside of the post. The threaded end screws onto the jewelry, making it easy to put on and remove.
Because the threads pass through the piercing, they can be more irritating to the skin compared to internally threaded jewelry. Using a sleeve cover from the tools i use i ensure less irritation with jewelry transfers.
Threadless Jewelry
Threadless jewelry is one of my most commonly used styles because it is simple, secure, and comfortable. Instead of screwing together, the decorative end pushes into the post and is held securely in place.
The smooth post makes insertion gentle on the piercing, while the interchangeable ends make it easy to mix, match, and customize your look. Threadless jewelry is a great option for both fresh and healed piercings.
